Coming Home to Myself: The Heart of Old School Yoga in Puerto Vallarta

There is a quiet rhythm to life when we slow down enough to listen. It hums beneath the noise — steady and sure — like the ocean waves that cradle Puerto Vallarta’s shore.

For me, yoga began as a way to breathe through the noise of daily life. Over time, it became a language — a way of listening, of remembering who I am beneath the movement, the stillness, and the ever-changing seasons of the heart.

For more than twenty years, yoga has been my compass. It has guided me through the tender, the turbulent, and the beautifully ordinary moments of life. It has taught me to listen — truly listen — to the wisdom of my body, the rhythm of my breath, and the quiet voice of my heart.

When I created Old School Yoga, my intention was simple: to offer a space where people could reconnect with themselves. A space that feels like coming home.

Here in Marina Vallarta, I teach Gentle Yoga, Restorative sessions, and Somatic workshops designed to invite awareness and kindness into your body. My classes are slow and intentional — rooted in presence, guided by curiosity, and held with compassion. You don’t have to be flexible or experienced to belong here. You just have to be willing to show up, breathe, and feel.

Old School Yoga isn’t about performance or perfection. It’s about softening the edges, releasing expectations, and remembering that your body already knows the way home.

This practice, for me, is both anchor and release — a place to land, and a space to expand.

Feel to Heal — A Somatic Journey Through Grief

Grief is a quiet companion. It lives in the body — whispering through breath, aching in the bones, lingering in the spaces between heartbeats. I know this intimately.

Over the years, I’ve come to see that movement can be one of the most compassionate ways to meet our grief. Through Somatic Yoga, we learn to breathe where words cannot reach, to soften where the heart has hardened, and to allow the body to guide the healing that the mind alone cannot create.

That is why I’m offering Feel to Heal: A Journey Through Emotion – Grief, a workshop happening on October 18 at Old School Yoga, Marina Wellness, Puerto Vallarta.

This space is created for anyone navigating loss — whether personal, collective, or unnamed. We will explore gentle somatic practices, guided meditation, and breathwork to help release what is held within and to rediscover the body’s innate wisdom.

Grief will always change us, but it does not have to close us. In movement, in breath, and in community, we can find softness again.

This is More Than a Practice — It’s a Homecoming.

Every time someone steps into the studio, I see a story unfold — one of courage, tenderness, and renewal. Yoga isn’t about becoming someone else; it’s about remembering who we already are.

Old School Yoga is my way of sharing what has carried me through life’s transitions: a grounded, heart-centered way of being. Whether through movement, stillness, laughter, or tears, each class is an invitation to listen — deeply — to yourself.

If your body is calling for rest, if your spirit is asking to breathe again, this space is for you.

Come as you are. Leave a little lighter.
