At Old School Yoga, we want to help you transform your body, clear and refresh your mind, and enlighten your spirit. We encourage students to learn at their own pace, in our safe, supportive and friendly environment.

The studio is fully furnished with mats, blocks, straps, blankets, and eye pillows, with a library of books, and DVDs for students to borrow. And to compliment the scheduled yoga classes, we also offer private classes, Thai Yoga Massage, Reiki, full day retreats, and a small retail area.

Part of the joy of Yoga is the discovery process. Each of us starts exactly where we are at and then gets to witness as the body, mind and spirit unfolds with every practice. What we learn about ourselves while 'on the mat' often applies to our everyday life off the mat. Yoga offers you a path back to your most true, authentic self. We look forward to seeing you at the studio!

Bring harmony and balance into your life through the
ancient practice of Yoga!

Michelle (Kamaswari's) passion for yoga and teaching began with strong roots in theatre and dance where she studied in Mississauga and Toronto. Struggling with the stresses of everyday life and an uneasy mind from running a family owned business, she turned to the benefits of yoga and meditation, both of which ignited an inspiration to become a teacher on how to attain well-being and inner peace in our everyday lives.

Michelle has been practicing yoga on and off her mat since 2003 and became a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance after receiving her certification from Michiji in Vinyasa Flow at 5 Elements Yoga Studio in Brampton, Ontario. She has continued her studies, with many wonderful teachers such as her teacher Michelle Cormack, Mark Whitwell, Kailash, Bhaghavan Das, Andrea Olivera, Rod Stryker, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Sean Corn and Nischala Joy Devi, and plans to continue her studies for many years to come.

"Michelle has guided us gently and expertly in our practice of yoga."

Testimonials:

My husband and I have been taking yoga classes with Michelle for over 2 years. She is always very welcoming and the studio has a wonderful calming atmosphere enhanced by its natural surroundings.

Michelle has guided us gently and expertly in our practice of yoga. Our classes are always small and intimate and Michelle is able to focus on our individual needs. We look forward to our weekly sessions and we always leave refreshed and rejuvenated. Participation in her Reiki and meditation sessions have also been valuable. We have encouraged our friends and family to visit Old School Yoga as well to experience its benefits and Michelle's expertise. Thank you Michelle for all of your efforts! We look forward to continuing at Old School Yoga for many more sessions.

I love my classes at Old School Yoga. As soon as I enter the studio, I feel a soothing and relaxing calm come over me. I have achieved poses and positions I never thought possible for me. The added bonus is that I have more energy and agility, and as a grandmother of five that is a real plus. Michelle is always there to coax me past my comfort zone, but always with patience , smiles, lots of fun and even a cup of herbal tea. Thanks Michelle for helping me become more aware of my body, mind, and surroundings in everyday life. After 2 years of classes with her I still look forward to each one. A great place to learn new things, and meet new friends.
